Paula's Story
Life
After spending the last 30 years traveling the world, I got married for the first time. My marriage to an old friend in March 2004, shocked our friends and family. We will continue traveling together. My husband will travel in search of good surf, I will travel because I love Learning, People and Life. Widening out to embrace a wonderful circle of brothers and sisters all over the world has kept my life happy and full. Always trying to strive to lead a balanced, spiritual life.
School
I just loved hanging out with everybody. The photography lab room, Jo Diotelevi's drama Room, Karen Inhofe's Art class. Curtis Heaton's yearbook and newswriting classes. Hanging out on the mound, in the lunch room. Watching the cute guys play volleyball. The great bands that would come to the school. Having the cafeteria ladies in the lunchroom say "hey girlie, over here!"
College
Attended Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State Los Angeles, Miracosta community college, Longview Community College. Kansas City College of Medical and Dental assisting. I remember just trying to stay awake in school while working 2 jobs.
WORKPLACE. I am typical government worker. I have worked for the State of California, since 1983. However, I no longer work for the Employment Development D...Expand for more
epartment. In 2007 I transferred to another State Agency. Alcoholic Beverage Control. It's very interesting.
Previous to working for the state, I was with private industry for 5 yrs in the oilfield drilling industry. Previous to that I was a waitress, dental assistant, receptionist, secretary, salesclerk, house cleaner, marketing assistant, etc...Weirdest Job I ever had? Selling cemetary plots.
DRESS STYLE...hmmm
You wouldn't think I liked style if you saw me around the house. But, I like classic clothes. Suits, Clean no frills dresses and skirts. Clothes from the thirties, fourties and fifties. Some early 60's. If Ihad to get in anyones closet, it would have been Jackie "O", Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn.
ONE OF MY OLDEST FRIENDS? Leola Leong, We met a Kailua Intermediate in 1970. We had a slight verbal altercation at school during the lunch break. Not knowing our mothers already knew each other. Both of our mothers kept saying I have a daughter your age I think they would like each other. When our mothers "introduced" us, it was like HUH?oops. Well things obviously went better after that. What choice did we have?.. our mothers were good friends. But, Leola has turned out to be one of my most loyal friends and supporters through out these nearly four decades.
