Paulette's Story

2/23/2010 Okay Personal Factoids...I guess I'll go by answering the questions in the story wizard to help here...so here goes. How do you hope old friends remember me? Simply for who I really was, the kind hearted, loving girl who could be alittle crazy at times. How do you blow off steam? Describe your favorite way to relax. Best way for me is to go cruisin' and jam to the music....or else be left alone to seriously garden in my patio yard with all my plantings. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? Playing hookie with a bunch of friends, driving off to Chicago looking for Chinatown and getting lost. Do you have a hero? Talk about where your inspiration comes from. I've always admired many people but no one in special until I was much older...it ends up I admire my maternal grandparents and my paternal grandmother for all they conquerred, all the hardships and all they made of life and that they so lovingly gave me along my life's way! Where have you lived? Why did you move? I always wanted more out of life and after short moves here and there I took one giant leap to Arizona in 1989 and am glad I did for multiple reasons! The one persons from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kathy Bean, Sandy Kreye, Myra Osbirn & a few others because our friendships were special to me! Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? How much sadness can be over whelming and if you don't put on your big girl pants on and start truckin' along again, it will eat you up live! If I could improve my home, I'd remodel it totally and add on a excercise room and a craft/hobby room along with a greenhouse in my yard. My dream home would be in the countryside along mountains and streams. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids. Becoming a parent is so much more than a single word can explain...it's the very best gift of love that God so granted to me that I so cherish! But what's more is seeing my grandchildren be born then soon in years to come have children of their own too...the circle of life is amazing to me! Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? Oh that is simple....my English teacher she was one awesome teacher so taught me that I could do anything I desired not wh...Expand for more
at people said of me....I only wished I had her for alot more time/subjects. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? I would of followed my dreams of real estate, investment and of my own company so I could live where and in what I always desired. What happened to your first crush? Life that's about all I know. My best friend would tell you I'm very truthful-sincere-affectiate-loving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet sometimes wild person but yet interesting. I share my home with my best friend and right now three of my grandkids, which I find loving-crazy and somewhat off-key at times. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? I'd follow what my desires were to do and not listen to what counselors and others made me believe that I could never be or do....now I say How dare they! In 10 years, I hope to be healthier & happier, enjoying life to the fullest!. I'm going to get there by finishing my child-rearing days and to do things that I always wanted to do and achieve. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? Heck...I went to the first one, one night with a friend from school, only a few knew, remembered me....others didn't, alot whom I wanted to see was not there...don't know if I'd ever desire to go to one again. My first job was at St. Therese Hospital, where I got paid barely over $2 to start to be a nursing assistant. I started my sophmore summer and worked through rest of high school and beyond. What I remember most about it is very hard work, sometimes rewarding, sometimes very sad but most of all treasured profession. Okay enough of the questions....simply I was married spring of my senior year (March 1974) and cancer ended my marriage to Isain Rivera July 1993. We had three daughters together. They have blessed me with eleven grandchildren ages now 18 to 4. In 1997 God answered my prayers and I found my best friend and adopted a son and a very loving family of in-laws to my circle of life. That's where I am today. I have had many trials of pain and death in my life....but yet too many gifts of love along the way to mend those scars. I cherish life's circle and know that I'm a survivor who loves life, nature and God.
