Paulette's Story
Gee, hard to cover 40+ years but here goes. After graduation, I went right to work at Social Security. Married at 18, a Mom at 19. Sooo young! We moved to Manchester in Carroll County in 1973. Unfortunately, divorced after 17 years though on good terms.
I had a great 25 year career in dentistry being both receptionist then dental assistant. I've been a proud NAVY mom and enjoyed his Navy life, more than he did! My son is now 41 (!)and he's given me the loves of my life: grandson Seth who's now driving, God help us, and granddaughter Laurel who's a 3rd grader. My family has been blessed by my Mom's good health, until a few years...Expand for more
ago with the onset of her dementia. Well, she is near 93 now...and I'm her main caregiver. We do have our days....but life hasn't treated us unkindly. I'm a serious scrapbooker and have made a priceless memento of the family history & BPHS is certainly a part of it. Scrapbooking certainly "takes you back" to another time and I recommend it to all. If not a scrapbook, at least jot down snippets of your childhood memories. I've sadly watched my Mom's memory fade, so I see the urgency. I'm afraid that if the next 20 years go as fast as the last 20, I'm cooked ! End of sermon... I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers "PURR".
