Pauline's Story
I went by a 'nickname' growing up in Herlong. My Dad called me Le Eurma, I didn't know it wasn't my real name until I was almost grown. We move to Herlong approx 1952-53. I started school in the second grade, then entered the Intermediate School graduating 8th grade. I remember standing on the street that ran along the front of the building each morning before the doors opened to let us inside where we could get warmed up and start classes. We also had dance classes on that street. Can't remember for sure but I don't think traffic was ever allowed on it. Graduating 8th and going to High School was a big deal.

re classes, at lunch & afternoon breaks, wrote notes to pass to one another when changing classes and made plans for after school was out and week ends.
In my Junior year (1960) I met & married Gene Slippey. This coming April 2014, we have been married 54 years. We had three children, a girl and two boys. We now have seven grand children and 5 great grandchildren. We retired in 1994, traveled the great USA for a couple of years and settled down here in the Mohave Desert. Love being warm weather. My hobbies are reading, doing Genealogy, Swedish Weaving, keeping in touch with family & friends. Love the computer and everyone it puts me in contact with, through e-mails and face book. hearing about their lives interests, and seeing their pictures.
