Paul-Robert's Story
School
Think about year 1985-1986, for those who were a part of the alumni at that point in time. I was nothing more than a nerdy kid with glasses who followed a grade-school friend's (Paulo Graça) decision to attend Polyvalente Lucien Pagé, even though I lived miles away.
Going back to 1986-1987, I remember the teacher I had made me dislike smoking or drinking coffee for the simple reason that we could smell the stench of that mix in her breath. This is not written here to degrade her, but simply to thank her for implementing that memory in my head discouraging me of consuming those substances. My grade-school friends still remained my closest acquaintances, who were the above-mentioned Paulo and Carlos Perreira.
All that the 1987-1988 semester was considered to be was the middle or breaking point of our high school experience. For those of you who had Biologie, recall Yvon Boisclair that was not too old but had his head covered with white hair. I, during that year, aspired becoming a military airplane pilot just like my buddies Doan Huu-Phuong who is now an engineer and Davide Ferrian who is an airplane pilot.
1988-19...Expand for more
89 was the school year prior to graduation and all that students dreamt about was how life would be like when high school was over. Everyone, however, must remember English teacher Monique Sacolax who was also at la Vie Ãtudiante from that time and era. During this period, my goals changed from becoming a trained person with a regular job to being a musical artist with no societal endeavours.
I wonder who remembers back in 1989-1990 the skinny kid with the long hair I was that thought he was a rockstar, thus dressing and acting accordingly. The most remarkable teacher by his bluntness must have been Ãducation Ãconomique's own Richard Thibeault. The duo I formed that year was with the closest long-haired friend that I had, Frédérique Morin. If we were any closer than what were, people would have considered us a couple of homos. Some former classmates still talk to me about the 1990 Concours de Sosies, where Roberto Campo, Daniel Latendresse, I, and Frédérique Morin portrayed Motley Crue's Kickstart my Heart. Believe it or not, I still have that show on DVD and use it to make people laugh at what I used to look like.
