Pearl's Story
Life
Hello,
30 years, how much time has passed. While I was Attending Collingswood High School, those who new me, My name at that time was: Pearl (Midge) Luck, which was an alias. LOLO When I turned 17 and it was time to get my drivers licence, I was able to use the Name I was born with. Pearl Chenette. I guess the adults in my life at the time thought it better that the children have the same last name. My memory is not what it use to be. I was pretty much a loner, and mostly focused on sports, but other than that I was not very social, except to hang out on Hippy Hill. Lucky for me I am retired and continue to go to school, go figure??? I wish there were pictures of what you all looked like in the 70's, I have run through the names and only remember a few. I guess my intention of signing up for this site, is to take a look back, and to take a look at the road I traveled between then and now. I left Collingswood and joined the army and traveled around the US from 1975 until 1993 when I moved to Delaware. I went back to school and graduated in 2007 with a four year degree and I am still taking classes , (I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up). So that brings me into 2009 and now I am living in Central Flroida again, and hoping to move back to the mountains, either on the east coast or midwest, I love and miss the mountains. A update for 2010,...Expand for more
I am in NJ again, at least until April of 2011, than I may be back on the road. I am a Gypsy at heart, I do find a great amount of peace on the road. Well, not much of a bio, but if anyone remembers me and would help me to remember you, write to me, I will look forward to the opportunity to communicate via email and revisit through the last 30 years of our lives. Light and Peace Pearl
Military
I joined the Army in April of 1975, went to Alabama for basic. ( one of the last units of WAC's. Then I went to South Carolina for school and ended up at Fort Hood Texas. Texas in the 70's was a bit prejudice and quite a culture shock after growning up in NJ. It will be an experience that I will not forget. I met a lot of nice people and only remember a couple of those I served with. Have lost contact, but if there is anyone out there that was stationed at Fort Hood between 1975 and 1977 and assigned to 1st Cav. division I would enjoy talking with them. I was in 1st Cav mess hall, but hung out off post, mostly in Austin and Harker Heights. Kileen was a dry county, so we went else where to party. the young party animals we were at the time. Now when someone says party, I think of Pampered Chef parties. LOLO Hope to hear from anyone that remembers me and from the three woman I remember, Pearl Fiske and Rhea Rodriguez from Fort Hood and Marion Gail Street from basic.
