Peder's Story
Life
Entered the Army right after graduation. Spent the next 25 years wandering around the world for the Army. I have lived and worked in places many people have only had the chance to read about. Along the way, I met lots of fasinating people and developed friendships that have lasted my entire life. Spent more time than I care to remember at war and in less than nice places. Broke more than few bones but managed to make it thru with only a couple of extra holes in my body that weren't there in the beginning. The last year has been interesting as business has branched out into Africa. The profile picture is from South Africa, about 25 miles south of the Botswanan border. Angola and Tanzania coming up followed hard by South Sudan. Between counter piracy, peace keeping operations fpr the UN and counter-terrorism in general, seems there's lots of work out there, which fortunately I only visit these days. It's a younger man's game and that's who I send to do the work, but we still have to go look.
Been married twice and it seems the second time was the charm. I'm married to a wonderful lad...Expand for more
y who also happens to be a Naval Officer, which makes the Army-Navy game very interesting. I have three beautiful daughters and one son. The oldest daughter is 33, married and she and her husband (an Army Major) are now at Ft. Leavenworth where he's a student at the Command & General Staff College. Second daughter is now 10 and in the in fourth grade, third daughter who is now a very lively 6 year old, is in the first grade and keeps me hopping and young. Lastly, the little man,my son is now 4 years old, in pre-school, running, talking up a storm and keeping everyone hopping. I've managed to get two degrees and working on the third and work in International Business Development for a major German defense contractor. All in all life's pretty good and I can't ask for much more.
I guess the bottom line for me is Every days a holiday, Every meals a feast and each day above ground with the grass tickling my toes is a great day! So have a great day, reach out, grab a double hand full of the reins of life and ride like hell and let someone else worry about what's over the horizon!!
