Peg's Story
Well I am now well settled in Santa Cruz California a place I love. It is a querky City that has a world class University and great surfing. No I do not surf the water is too cold but I love to watch the those who are daring enough to do so. I have worked for the last 28 years as a Realtor and sold every thing from a factory that made peanut butter and jelly sandwichs, a school house and a fire station. But mostly it has been just homes and nice people.
I have been divorced for over 30 years. I am content with my life as it sits. From my home I can walk to the beach and in less than 1Hour and a half I can be in Big Sur or San Francisco. Both are places I love to visit.
Beaver seems a world away like a forign country from here. What I remember is the protection of tradition and this part of Califoria is about the possibilities of change and creating some thing new and better. It does not always work out that way but the why not try it...Expand for more

What I remember best are all the summers at the pool. I think the only thing that saved my skin was the hazy clouds from the steel mills.
And the band I do not think I have heard a better high school band any where.
Santa Cruz has a lot of world class musicians but not the marching high school band like the Bobcats.
I also remember the sadness of the class mates that died.
Norma Strickland still haunts me. The lesson of paying attention even when I would rather be doing something else. and so many others. The need to be careful and live the best life available now has stayed with me. I think it is why I do not come back to the valley often too sad. We are good people that lived in tough times and made it through. Not too bad.
