Peggy's Story

Life Married Friends: Mattie, my best friend forever What I should have been: A stand up comedian. I love being a grandma, the most rewarding thing in life. 2021 to Present: Moved again, just a short distance away to The Villages, FL with our friends and family. The first thing was bought was a golf cart to run around in the community. We live on a beautiful cul-de-sac with wonderful neighbors. Everything here is well taken care of and just down the street is "The Family" pool which we don't have to maintain. Having your own pool is a lot of work. There is a total of 89 swimming pools to chose from and just a golf cart ride away. We also have 50+ golf courses. I am not a golfer, but my Jim is. 365 days a year there is live music entertainment in the squares for your enjoyment. We have 120 Recreation Centers that offer Billiards, Pickle Ball, Shuffleboard, Horseshoes and several class you can sign up for. My Jim is working on his Billiard skill and is getting quite good and has met new friends. I join him at times even though I am not very good. Now that things are starting to slow down with the move and Covid-19 has slowed down, the 3000 different clubs will start up again. I will need to figure out what I want to be involved in. A few of my friends are into quilting club and make beautiful quilts. I've been blessed with some beautiful gifts from them. So we are enjoying our new adventure. Our dog Tippy loves the new house and especially getting golf cart rides twice a day to get the mail. The morning mail run is just a dry run and the afternoon is the real deal. If say "Get the mail" she is up and running to the door to get to the garage, priceless. If you get down to reading this, I hope you have a great day! 2018 - 2020+: Retired in 2018 and moved to Florida with my Jim. Our first house in Florida was located an a canal on Lake Griffin with a boat house for our boat.. It wasn't on my bucket list, but it came with a pool which we enjoyed. My granddaughter Jaida Lorraine is now 9 months old. She is such a joy and fun to interact with. She loves her Grammy as much and I love her. It has been so much fun watching her grow and learning new things. She will be walking soon and loves making funny faces and noises. Boy she will be a talker (non-stop is my guess) when she does start talking. She is a good soul and loves to observe everything that is around her. She will be a gamer like her dad. She loves watching him play on his Xbox. Look out son, she is going to take you down someday on your Xbox, or whatever device is popular in the future. My granddaughter will be here in November 2014. Her name will be Jaida Lorraine. Lorraine is my mom's name. Jim and I are coming up with our 3rd wedding anniversary in December 2014. It's been a great couple of years with my best friend. I have another grandchild on the way in November 2014,my Son Ben will be a dad.I am so waiting to kiss my grandchild soon. My mom "Lorraine" past away on April 11th, 2014 afte...Expand for more
r a struggle with cancer that invaded everywhere in her body. My Dad died of Lung Cancer...So I have to be very careful in the future. It's nice to have someone you love also be your best friend. Jim is wonderful. My Marine: My son was retired from the Marine Corp due to his medical injury in April. He is home trying to transition back into civilian life. Nice to have him home again, but I know it's a lot to get use to after being a active Marine. A lot has happened since boot camp. School/training in 29 Palms, CA. Currently stationed at Miramar, CA. All I can think of is Tom Cruise in Top Gun, lol. My son suffered a shoulder injury while training and it has been determined that he will be getting a medically retirement. So sad since he is doing great in him MOS. It was hard to be left behind when his unit went overseas without him. Now he has to leave the corp too. Well god must have a plan. My son graduated from Marine Corp Boot Camp in San Diego, CA on August 22, 2008. I am so proud of him! Family Day was amazing, we had a wonderful time spending the whole afternoon with him on base. We did a lot of walking and had a wonderful lunch at the BayView Restraurant on base. We had beautiful weather on Graduation Day, it was wonderful to see them march across the parade deck. I was so proud! The best part was when they dismissed them to go home for a 10 day liberty. He returned to Camp Pendleton for infantry training for 28 days and then off to his MOS training. He will be trained to work on aviation electronic systems, and be stationed at an air base. It could be Japan or Hawaii, or on the main land even. If he doesn't get the main land, I'm hoping for Hawaii which would finally give me a reason to go there. But then again being a Marine, he may go to the Mid-east. I pray everyday that he will be safe no matter where he goes. He is off to MOS at Twentynine Palms, CA. It's only been a few weeks and he is still trying to get settled at the new base. He is no longer in a barracks with 70+ other marines. He is living in a dorm like setting with three room mates. He'll be stationed at 29 Palms for the next 18 months. He is hoping to be able to come home for Christmas before he starts his classes in January 2009. I certainly do miss him. Please keep him and all those in the arm forces in your prayers. Me: Returned to College in January 2007 to work on my Accounting Degree. I'm having a great time and so far doing quite well with studing again. I just finished the Spring 2008 Session. Looking forward to fall. Love spending time out on my deck on weekday evenings relaxing in front of the fire and listening to the birds sing. Going to concentrate on getting a big Muskie in 2008. Mission Big Muskie accomplished. On 6/30/08 I caught a 41 inch Tiger Muskie while vacationing in Hayward WI for the week. Please say hi when you stop by while reading my profile. Hi Don!
