Peggy's Story
Hello to all. This is a new addition to the story of my current life.
My role here in Lawton has changed almost completely in the past few weeks. Last week my siblings and I worked very hard to reconcile all of my mom and dad's beautiful art glass lamps collection. We sent much of the better things for an antique auction in St. Louis in late October. Before that we will have an garage sale auction and sell all the other things and the house in early Oct. So the real point is that I will be able to go back to my home in Santa Fe much earlier than I had anticipated. I have some
regrets about leaving my home here in Lawton because of the many wonderful friends I have made this time round....but my heart has been in Santa Fe and Taos for a very long time...since about 1948 as a kid....and continues to belong to the the beautiful environment, the focus on the arts and my good friends there. I'll also be one state closer to my kids in Phx.
My daughter Lori and her 3 kids, Casey, Jonah and Indigo live there where I go as often as possible.
Casey just graduated from an Arts High School in Tempe; he is a guitarist and artist. He has enrolled in a professional sound engineering academy in Tempe for the fall and will return to his art at some time. The other two are in a private Montessori elementary school and are doing great... Indigo happy, beautiful and sil...Expand for more
ly; and Jonah bright and much too serious for 12. I regret being one more state away from them.
I retired as a highschool teacher/director/actress several years ago although I continue to act and direct and will do more so when I return to Santa Fe.
My good friend, Nat Eek, former Dean, School of Fine Arts at OU, lives in Santa Fe now and we co-produced a repertory theatre there for 7 years. We are planning more theatre endeavors when I return.
Personally, my time, when I get back to Santa Fe, will be spent in my practice as a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist working with those in pain.
I have been doing this work for over 15 years...went to massage school to find about my own pain as a result of a car accident and found out I loved doing the bodywork...and took advanced work to be an NMT. For many years I traveled to San Miguel, GTO,
Mexico staying for several months and took tinworking classes. So I will continue making shrines and other objects of tin and the Saints. I look
forward to stretching my creative muscles again since I have not done so in the past 5-6 years as I was taking care of my parents.
So I am excited to make a life change...again???, I think...but once again I will move back to my sweet home in SF and settle in with a life that has been deferred for several years now...and is yearning to be fulfilled.
My best to you all....P.
