Peggy's Story

This has been an extremely difficult time for me due to the loss of my husband (Bill). But it didn't stop there - they say it comes in three's so maybe just maybe the pain and agony of loss will subside soon. First I lost my husband Bill tragically a perfectly healthy man and he died suddenly of a Pulmonary Embulism due to a misdiagnosis. Second my mother died with out any warning a few months later. She went to bed one night and passed quietly in her sleep. My Mother and Father have been married 61 years. Three weeks after burying my mother I came home to find my 12 year old Golden Retriever dying on my kitchen floor. Lucky waited till I came home from work so we could say goodbye. He never showed any sign of illness it was so sudden and I miss him very much. He brought such joy to my life. Most of all I miss Bill my husband of 25 years and he was my soul-mate and best friend. My life will never be the same and I now know the true meaning of loneliness and grief. Remember to say I love you everyday to those you love because you never know when they will be taken from you. My husband Bill's story is difficult to talk about because the Doctors made so many mistakes and because of that a good man died. They misdiagnosed him and told him he had Pneumonia and sent him home with antibiotics. Three days later I brought him to the emergency room where they diagnosed him with Blood Clots in his lungs and both legs. It all went downhill from there and after being airlifted from one hospital by helicopter to Md University Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.. He died the day after Christmas from a Pulmonary Embolism. This man didn't deserve to die and I blame the Doctors of Shady Grove Hospital ...Expand for more
- Rockville, Md for killing him with their neglect and inability to do their jobs. My life is in ruins and the love of my life is dead. Needless to say my world has fallen apart the last 5 month have been a fog. I was fortunate to be married to a true Southern Gentlemen and we had 25 wonderful years together but it just wasn't enough. Bill was the love of my life and I really don't know how I will go on without him. I am so lost without Bill. When I think back on working late and going in on weekends when I could have been with Bill I regret every moment I didn't spend with him. As I sat by Bill's hospital bed waiting for the end of his life I took some comfort in knowing that during his life he brought so much joy into my life and so many others. We were a happy couple and enjoyed so much together simple things like a good steak, a funny movie, and sharing popcorn. Bill was a gentle sweet man who could make you smile even if you were having a horrible day. We would always say to each other "Love ya like a rock" and "Live long and Prosper" remember to always say "I love you" life is to short not to. Peggy Living in Maryland - Working for one of the largest Hotel Companies - Director of Sales & Marketing of several hotels. Was Married to a great guy - who loved to cook. Had a wonderful golden retriever named Lucky. Life was good then.....now I just exist day to day and try to survive. In order to fill my empty life I have become a volunteer to several dog rescue groups. I have rescued three Shih tzus their names are Ralphie, Matilda and Goodwin. I also fostered and then adopted Minnie a 4 lb mix Chi/Terrier. These dogs are my reasons to get up each morning and fill my life with joy.
