Penny's Story
Life
Alot has happened since graduation. I am happily married (over 10 years) with 2 kids, both girls ages 12 and 8. I graduated from GSW in 1998 with a BS in Psy. and Edu. I am currently working on my Master's and CAC. The most interesting thing I've done lately is.... I moved to Colorado. To boot, I live about 1 mile from Tonya Turner-Bodrey. So the best friends who couldn't leave each other's side in DCHS, are still together. I think that my years at DCHS and GSW gave me a sense of foundation and a place to call home. e everywhere I go. I would not be who I am if not for them. I would do high school over again in a minute. One more day of Ms. Nunn's French class. One more day of smoking during PE class. One more day of can ball on the patio. In a minute......
College
I remember 10 am on Wednesdays we would all pile up in the cars and go to the Windsor Gourmet coffee shop. We would sit outside and drink double vanilla cappuccino's and eat cheesecake while watching the people go by. I learned just as much in those stolen hours as I ever did in class. There were about eight of us then. Slowly we drifted, some of us stayed in contact, some moved on. Even then we knew the experience was fleeting and that all too soon we would have to grow up and be responsible. We definetly made the most it. We had class together, we partied together, we shot pool together, we danced together. It was exquisite. I would do it all again. I would do it all again for a pizza and a pitcher at Pat's Place!
