Perry's Story
My wife Aimee and I are now retired in a secluded house we built 15 years ago on Lake Manitou, on Manitoulin Island, where I have served as the reeve of a township where my father was the reeve for many years.
Aimee and I were both non-partisan federal civil servants; she ran Parks Canada and I looked after such things as cultural policy and income tax law, as well as earning my keep in the cabinet office and the treasury board secretariat.
Aimee and I met in 1968 when she was going to work on Mr. Trudeau's leadership campaign and I was in the press gallery.

enough to help to build our house. We have a lot of visitors, travel quite a bit, enjoy reading and the arts, volunteer, dabble in Liberal politics, and spoil other people's children.
I fondly remember great teachers including Mr.Stevenson, Mr. Shapiro, and Bruce Cox (who had a place with Lynn on Lake Manitou). And especially Eddie Bartlett, who taught me a love of music and some humility.
If only I could again hear the orchestra play the Bridal Rose Overture, or the grand march from Aida with Ivor Sargent on trumpet.
Or even be there once more at CFOS for "It's 9:10 and the OSCVI takes over!"
There is no end to the memories.
