Perry Ciambella:

CLASS OF 1975
West seneca, NY

Perry's Story

I have pursued a number of dreams in my life; and as I did I was fortunate to encounter many old friends from our high school years. Herein I will chronicle, to the best of my memory, several phases including college, early career, public ministry and then family life. For college I went to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy New York as did Rick Szalach from our class. Being out of town, both of us still dated our high school sweet hearts--he Lisa Schober and I, Donna Simpson. Early Career: After graduation I worked in the Industrial Coatings Industry, starting in Buffalo with the Spencer Kellogg Company. Being back in Buffalo, I hooked up with a number of our old classmates running into them everywhere from church (St Catherine's) to bars.and hearing of many through the grapevine--often through my rather large family of parents or six brothers and sisters. I was only back here for a year as my career moved me to Cincinnati Ohio where coincidentally Debbie Maples who had married Donna Simpson's brother, Joe, also moved. I recall that Joe had been transferred there for his job in the Coast Guard. After a year, Spencer Kellogg transferred me to Long Beach California, a long ways away from Buffalo. Over the next six years there as I thrived in my young career, I came back to Buffalo dozens of times as my heart was still here. y is large, there was a lot going on here. Let me pause to give a little of their stories. My brother Daryl (East class of '79) was the first to marry as he married his high school sweetheart and fellow East Classmate Cathy Rutkowski in 1984. They eventually settled in West Seneca and then in Orchard Park with their three children Bryan (now works for a Venture Capital firm in New York City), Matthew, my Godchild, (just graduated from Notre Dame where he attended on a Lacrosse scholarship) and Chelsea still in college. Daryl still lives in OP and works as COO of Cellino and Barnes. Sharyl (East '77) had gone on to get her nursing degree from UB and in '85 married her college sweetheart Kevin Donovan who graduated from UB med school in anesthesiology. They lived in Buffalo briefly before moving to Nashville Tennessee and then to Jacksonville Florida with their four children Joseph, my Godchild (applying to dental schools), and Troy, Janelle and Luke who all attend some of those National Champion Florida colleges. Janine (East '80) married her high school sweetheart Fred Newton (East '78) that same year. Janine had her degree from Buff State and Fred, engineering degree from UB as they started life in Connecticut before moving back to East Amherst with their four children Jacob (Buff State), Larelle (Fredonia), Derek (Williamsville North) and Julia, my Godchild (Williamsville North). Janine is active in the Insurance industry and Fred works for Delphi. Cory (East '74)
