Perry's Story
Military
I spent 3 years on active duty as a combat MP assigned to rapid deployment forces, but couldn't get promoted because of the point system. I got tired of being a corpral in a staff sergeants position.. you know, all the responsibility, and none of the pay. So I got out and went into the army reserves for 9 1/2 years in Psychological Operations. I spent most of my time as a team chief on a tactical team, but did 2 years as the assistant chief of current intellegence before returning to the HB/TDP teams. Had some good tim...Expand for more
es on overseas deployments. And some not so good times at JRTC as part of the special ops task force. I served with some amazing people. Unfortunately, some of them are no longer with us, but their memory lives on.
I'm retired now, having spent the last 16 years working at Ventura County Behavioral Health. The majority of time I worked with severely mentally ill adults providing case management and rehab services in a variety of programs. I also spent 3 years assigned to a day treatment center for emotionally disturbed kids.
