Perry's Story
Life
After graduation I crammed one semester of DelMar into two.
First, I went to work for an oilfiled service company, WEBCO, that went under.
I went to work for Citizen's State Bank on Leopard in their Computer department in 1972 and stayed there until late 1973.
I married my high-school girlfriend Debbie Loveday in June of 73 (still married as of 2012).
We moved to Houston in late 73 and I worked at Texas Instruments in Stafford until early 74. Our first child, Paul, was born in October of that year.
We moved back to Corpus Christi where I worked for Bradley's Motor and Armature Works on Port Street for about 4 years.
Or second son, Daniel, was born in Feb of 77.
After Bradley's, I got in on the ground floor of a chemical company, Bay Chemical and Supply, and worked there until the oil recession in 82.
In August of 82 I answered an add that read "Learn to operate a radio, must be willing to travel." The voice on the phone said "US Navy recruiting". I enlisted in the Navy and shipped off to Orlando, Florida in October of 82.
After 28 plus years of continuous active duty I retired in February of 2011 as a Limited Duty Officer (aka Mustang) specializing in Surface Operations.
Since joining the Navy, Deb and I have been stationed in:
Naval Recruit Training Center, Orlando, Florida as a recruit in Basic Training;
Naval Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida (Electronic Warfare Training) as a student under instruction;

Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Virginia as the Operations Officer.
Area Regional Security Integration Command North, Masir-E-Sharif, Afghanistan as Combat Adviser. and Communications Officer
We "acquired" a daughter, Eve in 97. And are raising her daughter, Brooke (the light of my eye...and the bain of my existence.
Currently Deb and I are partners in "PnD'S Selling". Deb makes chocolate candies. I do decorative woodworking.
Google "pndswipes" and you'll find our web site.
We have started collecting grandchildren and at last count the collection is up to 10.
Enjoy,
Pete
College
Snippets of memories.
Mixing acid and alkali solutions in Chemistry Class in Del Mar and blowing stuff out of the test tube all over myself, and having to take my shirt off and rinse it out in front of the whole class.
Spending more time at a cheap pool hall across the street from Del Mar than I did actually attending classes there.
Collecting coke bottles (yes bottles) for gas money to get to and from Del Mar (that would certainly be tougher to do with today's gas prices.
