Life Immediately after graduating McNary High School, I went directly into the Marines. I wanted the opportunity to experience adventure as well as travel to areas of the world I would never have gone otherwise. I definitely got my share of both! My field of specialty was Radio Communications, and ended up being assigned to an infantry unit in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. From there, they wasted no time sending my unit overseas to Okinawa, Japan for a 6 month deployment. Our 6 months was altered, courtesy of Saddam Hussein, as he decided he wanted to broaden his beach from property, and incorporate Kuwait. So immediately we were sent into Desert Shield, which progressed into Desert Storm. Once that all worked itself out, we returned to our home duty station for little over a year before being deployed once again.
