Pete's Story
Attended college...well, actually three of them.
In 1985 was working as a COBOL programmer putting in those 2-digit dates that some of us worried about in Y2K - no, they didn't fix my code...they just got really lucky.
Worked on Mainframes, mini's, and eventually PC's doing everything from networking, engineering, troubleshooting, programming to eventually ending up...
...Working as an IT Manager (obviously I didn't learn my lesson from the dot-com blowout) supporting about 1,000 employees spread out over 13 locations around Puget Sound.
Well, just like my dad, I defined myself by what I do for money. Anyway, I was about to say "that's enough introspection and personal detail for any web site" but then I read the Story Wizard suggestions and here are some answers:
Describe your favorite way to relax. Walk along the waterfront - any waterfront.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have audio books on my ipod, and Red Bull to be able to deal with the day-to-day traffic.

interesting place I lived was a meth house in Renton that was frequently raided by DEA and eventually torched (arson) most likely by the home owner....twice. (It's the pile of rubble on the corner of Factory Ave N. and 4th by Paccar.)
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a gaming room. My dream home would be a massive fortress with a mote, a couple trebuchets, a few towers, a... ;-)
What's the weirdest job you ever had? A lot of choices here, but I would say kicking the drunks, that were twice my age and size, out of the swimming pool at Motel 6 on Pac Hwy at 3AM was pretty dang unusual. So were the two gentlemen who, every day, reserved two rooms in the back of the hotel by I-5 to entertain guests...(for those of you who are more innocent, money may have been exchanged for services rendered...)
I have a house in Eastern WA, but stay in Seattle as live in care for my mom and because the job$ are here.
