Peter's Story
Life in Miami, FL - a whole lot different than Ohio! Been in South Florida since 1986, and yes to all those who thought I was, I am gay. In a wonderful relationship with a bank lawyer.
I graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY with a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Administration and have enjoyed many years in the hotel/restaurant industry.
In 1986 I moved to Ft. Lauderdale to work at the Hotel InterContinental in Miami. I moved to South Beach in 1988 - and I saw it all happen down there! After 4 years as Reservations Manager and Front Office Manager, I went to the Doral Resort and Country Club, now the Doral Golf Resort and Spa. After 4 years as Reservations Manager, I was recruited by the Hotel Sofitel Miami as Director of Business Development. But after a year...Expand for more
there, the Doral bribed me to go back as Director of Front Office Operations. In 1996, I had to leave the Doral - I was burned out. So for the next 7 years, I worked as Accounting Manager for a property management company in South Beach. In 1998, after South Beach started becoming too crowded and way too expensive, I bought a great house in an up-and-coming neighborhood in Ft. Lauderdale. In 2004, I went to work at The Grand Resort and Spa, Ft. Lauderdale's premier gay resort. I enjoyed 6 years of service at the resort as Guest Services Manager.
In 2010, moved in with my significant other, David, who has a wonderful house in Miami. Life is good here!
