Peter's Story

In July, 2010, my youngest daughter Morgan was visiting Baton Rouge, Louisiana while attending Freshman Orientation at Louisiana State University (LSU) with her mother and on the way back to campus for the evening session, she was broadsided by a driver who was talking and texting on his cell phone while driving. She died without regaining consciousness. Morgan had just turned 18 3 months before and had graduated from Fairhope High School as Valedictorian of her Class where she was also high scorer in the initial International Baccalaureate (IB) class at FHS. She was one of 50 students, worldwide, who was accepted into LSU's School of Architecture for the 2010-11 academic year and had been awarded a full academic scholarship to attend LSU. She was gifted in all academia as well as art, which was very much her sour...Expand for more
ce of relaxation. Some of her artwork can be seen at the Morgan Thompson Foundation online and another site featuring her work only is under development. After leaving LTHS, I attended WIU in Macomb, IL where I received a BAS in Law Enforcement Administration. After graduation, I joined the Birmingham, AL police department until I decided the money wasn't worth the risk involved. I began my 2nd career in banking and finance shortly afterwards. In 1986 I relocated to the Alabama Gulf Coast where I remain today. I retired in July, 1999 on disability due to spinal issues that have resulted in some 12 or so spinal surgeries.. I've been married for 34 years to a native Alabamian. Our surviving 2 children live Alabama and Louisiana, respectively, and we are the grandparents of 1 grand-daughter who is now 5 years old.
