Peter's Story
Life
After leaving Lassiter in 1985, I went to UGA where I recieved a BMus in horn performance in 1990. I continued my studies at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and recieved a MM in horn performance in 1992. While in grad school, I married Ellaine Bailey. We met at UGA during the last two weeks of my post graduate studies there. We got married on August 3, 1991 at St. Ann's Catholic church in Marrietta.
We lived in Athens another three years while Ellaine finished her undergraduate degree, and I went back and got a MMEd and began teaching. We moved the Auburn, AL in 1995 so Ellaine could go to grad school. She is done with her PhD now.
Our first child was born on Dec. 24, 1993: Peter 'Charles' Miller, Jr. He is an honor student (all A's and B's in school) at Gardner Newman Middle school in LaGrange. y remodeling, referbishing, and landscaping our home. We have several gardens including an English style cottage rose garden. I have been added a bathroom to the house and will soon begin on adding the future upstairs.
I have been principle horn of the LaGrange Symphony since 1998. I sing in the choir at St. Mark's Episcipal church. I also play my horn for local groups as much as possible.
Mom died in September of 2002 after suffering years with asthma and arthritis. My sister Chris is now on permanent chemo for her 4th time with cancer. The rest of the family is fine and dad still lives in Mt. Creek in the original house.
After leaving public school teaching for 9 years, I took a year to revamp myself. I am now a parent coach and advocate. I have begun to teach private music lessons again in East Cobb at dad's old house. I will also be doing parenting workshops and child development workshops in the Atlanta area.
I hope to hear from you again as I move forward in life and now that my email is fixed it shouldn't be as hard.
