Phil Krenz:

CLASS OF 1966
St. francis, WI

Phil's Story

The class of '66 is turning 44 this year, where has the time gone? I married Sue Wood, had one daughter, got divorced. Attended UW Whitewater after school for one semester and ended up in the Navy aboard a submarine for two years in Hawaii. Didn't want to lose my life in 'Nam like Joe Voltner and Charlie Treweek did. Received electronics training and attended UWM on the GI bill. Worked at Allen-Bradley till '79 where I met my future wife, we've been together ever since. No children. Moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1980, worked at Motorola for 27 1/2 years until my job went offshore. Took a 9 month "vacation" and worked a couple more jobs and retired in Jan. '10. I live in an adult community, you have to be at least 55. It's like a resort with heated pools, spa, tennis, bocce and shuffle board courts. puter, and two workout rooms with a library. I am truly blessed and try to take nothing for granted. I have done my share of drug and alcohol use and abuse but have been clean and sober for the last nine years. It was affecting my health, go figure, I have lost three coworkers/friends to alcohol, all under age 55. I have been reading Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and Eckhardt Tolle and met the first two. I am on a journey of awakening/awareness, trying to become more understanding, compassionate and loving. I look back at some of the ways I treated those who I perceived as different and hope they can forgive me for I truly didn't know what I was doing. I played allot of golf, tennis, raquetball, ping pong and recently took up bridge. We have cards four nights a week. I hope that everyone, all my wonderful former classmates find peace in their lifetime and enjoy. Phil
