Phil's Story

I graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Mathematics. Moved near Burbank, CA and worked for Lockheed's skunk works doing some math analysis for engineers and scientists. Then moved around some ending up in Santa Clara, CA working for UCS, Inc. (a computer time-sharing co.) teaching engineers & scientists how to use a Calculus-level language to find optimum solutions to their design problems. (Married a wonderful girl that I met in my church.) Then a UCS attendee hired me to design an optimal matched (electrical) filter for Memorex Corp. disc drive division. Bought our first home in Santa Clara, CA and our second home in Sunnyvale, CA. Next, I worked at Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. in the f...Expand for more
requency domain solving engineering math problems. In 1991, I was let go (we dropped some 15,000 that year alone!). So I started writing a text book on this Calculus-level language that I taught and found to be so helpful in solving math problems. Next, I built a web site, digitalCalculus.com, and some 7 applications to demo this Calculus language. To date little interest from those browsing the web. So I'm 99% retired. In 2008, we moved to Medford, OR and found a lot to build on. We built a home and moved in July, 2010. Both my wife and I joined our church choir and are truly loving the area & people. I still do wood working as a hobby and love it too. Medford is just the right size community for us. :)
