July 2, 2010 - Took my granddaughter (Addi) to work today, since I was only working a half-day. Wore me out! She'll be 1 year old on July 20 ... is walking ... and is NON-STOP.
July 3, 2010 - The whole local family (sans son and daughter-in-law who live in a suburb of New Orleans, but includes daughter, son-in-law, his parents, my wife and my granddaughter), plus a couple of friends, went to the Ranger-White Sox ball game this evening. We had a good time and a little too much beer.
July 20, 2010 - Went to Magic Time Machine for Addi's 1st birthday. 8 of us (plus Addi) enjoyed a nice meal and Aladdin (Disney) as our waiter. Gotta admit that Addi was not too impressed. By the time our food was served (8 PM), Addi was pretty fussy (she normally eats much earlier) and by the time we finished eating, she was ready for bed ... but ... all-in-all ... had a good time.
July 22, 2010 - Kevin and Kasey (son and daughter-in-law) drove in from Belle Chasse, LA to attend Addi's 1st b'day party. So happy to see them. We had a lot to catch up on ... and we did. Kevin had to fly home on Sunday, but Kasey is staying through until Tuesday.
July 24, 2010 - 1st b'day party for Addi. She didn't show much interest in her gifts, but she had a great time tearing off the wrapping paper. She had her first taste of ice cream and cake. I guess she liked it ... she was covered from head to toe. She had no idea what to do with the pinata, but had fun watching us swing at it .... what belly laughs.
August 1, 2010 - Today is Jan's (wife) 57th birthday. For the next 2 days, she'll be an old fart and I'll be a young stud!
August 3, 2010 - Today is my 57th birthday. I'm now an old fart, too!
August 10, 2010 - I just posted a FANTASTIC picture of my granddaughter. Check out my "photos".
August 15, 2010 - Wifey and I just returned from a trip to the BIG EASY to visit our son and daughter-in-law. Had a wonderful time, but 92 with 70 percent humidity is much worse than 102 with 25 percent humidity.
August 17, 2010 - Yesterday, Jan and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary by falling asleep on the couch at 8 PM.
August 23, 2010 - It was a hot, miserable weekend, but Jan, Joy, Addi and I still found time to go shopping (Abran was at a friend's ranch helping him repair fences ... lucky stiff). Why, you ask, was I going shopping? Simple ... my granddaughter suffers from a common Warren affliction ... TERMINALLY STINKY FEET. It's hard enough to find tennis shoes for a toddler her age, much less two, but we did. Tennis shoes for alternating days ... wear them one day ... wash them the next.
August 31, 2010 - NEWS! Kevin and Kasey are coming to town for the OU - Utah State game ... and ... Joy and Abran (and Addi) are going to Virginia to visit Abran's brother, wife and 2 nephews. But ... we get to keep Moose and Troy (their dogs) ... and K&K will bring theirs (their dogs are soooooooo spoiled).
September 27, 2010 - Saturday's the big day. My kids are coming in from Belle Chasse (Kevin and Kasey) and Frisco (Joy and Abran - and granddaughter Addi) for my OU-Texas party. Sure to be a good time. BOOMER SOONER !
November 11, 2010 - Been a while since I've posted anything (probably because nothing of interest to post). UNTIL NOW! I'm going to be a grandpa again next June. My son Kevin and his wife Kasey are PREGGERS!
November 30, 2010 - Last Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, my wife (Jan), daughter (Joy), son-in-law (Abran) and granddaughter (Addi) went to Tulsa for Thanksgiving. Addi was wonderful traveler (for just being 16 months old). Nice to see family again - sisters Gayle (and husband Frank), Claudia (and husband Dean) and Judy ... 6 nieces and nephews (and 4 of their wives.husbands), my mom and dad.
December 14, 2010 - Last Saturday, Joy (daughter) and Abran (son-in-law) took Addi (17 month old granddaughter) to have her picture made with Santa at Vista Ridge mall. They prepared her well, telling her how fun it is to sit on Santa's lap and how much he loves kids. Finally, they reached the front of the "Santa" line and as Joy walked toward Santa with Addi in her arms, Addi's knuckles turned white from the "death grip" she had on Mom's shoulder. After mom successfully pried Addi's hand from her shoulder, she placed Addi on Santa's lap, where she let out a cry of terror and alternately arched and bent in an effort to escape the "Monster in Red". Needless to say, Addi's 2010 Santa picture is PRICELESS!

Last Saturday, my son (Kevin) and daughter-in-law (Kasey) had a gender party for their due-in-June baby. Well ... it's a boy and his name will be Lyrik Scott Warren.
March 9, 2011 - Last Friday night Kevin (son) and I (and a bunch of his friends) did Karaoke. Kevin' is an amazing singer, while I'm (at best) mediocre. Nothing like sitting there and suddenly having your name called to sing "Stayin' Alive" (thanks Kev). Rather than embarrass myself by trying to "cheek" out all those high notes, I sang it in the style of Boris Karloff. (with a touch of Frank Sinatra). On the baby front, Kasey (D-I-L) had her first baby shower last Saturday. Definitely a "ladies day out", so Pappy, Kevin and friends went to the "Waterin' Hole" and played a little bit of pool and drank a little bit of beer.
April 8, 2011 - What a day! Last Saturday Jan and I took our granddaughter Addi (20 and a half months) to the Shriner's Circus. Definitely a good decision. The circus was relatively small and geared toward younder children. She had a ball riding the ponies, watching the white lions and ancient elephants, and eating a lifetime full of junk food. Then to top things off, we went to "Chucky Cheese" after the circus. We wandered around the place for nearly 15 minutes just trying to find a seat. But luckily we found a great seat in "Toddler Park", where everything was "JUST RIGHT" for Addi. When we got home, it took Addi nearly 2 minutes to go to sleep. Busy and fun day!
May 13, 2011 - Last Saturday through Tuesday we were in Belle Chasse, LA visiting my son Kevin and his wife Kasey. She's pregnant (very) and due mid-June. We drove down with my daughter Joy, her husband Abran and their daughter (my granddaughter) Addi. We had a wonderful time while down there - U.S. Navy Airshow (the Blue Angels are unbelievable) - a trip into New Orleans (aquarium and restaurants) - dinner at Kevin and Kasey's (best evening of all). Kasey looks absolutely wonderful and she and Kevin can't wait for Lyrik to get here (and neither can his grandparents). There was a funny conversation between Addi (now nearly 22 months) and Kasey that I have to share. Addi (who still wears diapers) walked past Kasey and Kasey noticed that Addi was "fragrant". Here's the conversation:
Kaeey: Addi, did you poo-poo?
Addi: No! Addi fart!
I had no idea that she knew what word to use (or that she even knew THAT word).
June 20, 2011 - New addition to family. Please welcome Lyrik Scott Warren, 7 pounds 0 ounces, healthy. He's a beautiful boy ... looks like his mama. Jammy and Pappy are so happy and so proud!
July 3, 2013 - Has it been that long since I've given an update? Here's the latest and greatest! Landon Bryce Warren now weighs about 6 pounds and is breech. Mama (Kasey) is due August 2.
July 3, 2013 - Getting ready to go to Tulsa, Vinita, B'ville, etc over the long weekend. Gonna turn the big 6-0 soon, but no worries, wifey (Jan) turns 60 2 days before I do.
Grandchild number 3 arrived on July 28 (just a few days early). Landon Bryce Warren looks just like his daddy Kevin.
Grandchild number 4 is on the way. My daughter Joy is due next May.
Kids threw Jan and me a surprise 60th birthday party. How they kept it a secret is beyond me. They invited nearly 40 of our friends (who all remained tight-lipped) collected hundreds of pictures of the 2 of us, and convinced us that we wanted to go to La Hacienda Ranch for dinner.
Jan and I are planning what may be our last BIG vacation with our kids, their spouses and their kids. Disneyworld, you'll rue the day you let us visit!
July 25, 2016 - Kept grandchild #4 this weekend so that his big sis (Addilyn) could have a few girls come to a sleepover for her 7th b'day. Eli (Elijah) turned 2 in May, but you'd think he was older. He talks nonstop and Jammy and Pappy can understand most of what he says now. 2 years old and a MASTER of the iPad and the iPhone. Much of the weekend was spent building an elaborate Lego garage for his trucks. GREAT FUN!
Newest and best update: Jan and I close on our new house in Frisco Lakes on February 27. Frisco Lakes is a retirement community that is 2 miles from my daughter and her family and 5 miles from my son and his family. Now I need a golf cart that seats 6. Our new home is only 1 mile from Woody's, the sports bar where my son and I watch OU football.
March 18, 2019 - More updates. We've now lived in Frisco lakes for 2 years. We're good friends with all of our neighbors, and there are 10 of us that do everything together. We're also planning a Baltic trip. So far, we've made plans to see Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, someplace in Germany (can't remember the name of the place), Gdansk, St Petersburg and Prague ... and the list keeps expanding.
