Philip's Story
I enlisted in the Air Force in 1967. Spent 23 years as an air traffic controller. Retired in 1990 as a Chief Master Sargent. Had assignments from Alaska to Italy. Assigned to Nelis AFB in 1971 where I met my wife Karen who was an elementary teacher originally from Minnesota. We have been married for 43 years and have two sons 31 and 35. After retiring, moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota where I taught air traffic control with the Minneapolis Technical College for 14 years. 72. Completed my Masters in Education in 1994. Currently still living in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I have had two wonderful careers and am now enjoying my retirement. Karen and I have done a lot of traveling. We have had the good fortune to visit China, Australia, New Zealand, several Central American countries, and most of Europe. I remember my high school days as just ok. I didn't care much about class work and had little support at home. My life turned around after joining the Air Force and got even better after I met my wife. -Phil-
