Philip's Story
Life
Hello fellow Sewarders! It's been great to find this site and locate you again. Here is what the years have held for me:
After my Seward Years, I began a career in editorial publishing, working for Modern Photography Magazine for ten years. My work in publishing continued, and at the same time I attended Fordham University, graduating in 1984. In 1993, I became a librarian with New York Public Library, attending Queens College for my Masters. I was a librarian at the Horace Mann School in Riverdale, where I also lived, from 1999-2003. In 2003, I accepted a position as Chief Analyst at The New York City Law Department in 2003, and retired from that position in 2017.
I received my M.F.A. in Creative Writing from City College, New York in 2016, and have been teaching there since 2015. Currently I am an A...Expand for more
djunct Assistant Professor of English and Literature. My first collection of poetry, 'The Carnival of Affection,' was published in 2017, and writing has become my main professional focus. I am the Poetry Editor of A&U Magazine, and have had my work published in a wide range of journals.
I had a "Seward Moment" recently while walking down a street in town. I heard someone call out "Philip? Philip Clark?" I turned around to see a former classmate from Seward. "You haven't changed in 25 years," he said. I took it as a compliment, but the truth is....oh yes I have.
All the best to each of you. Hope you and your families have health, happiness, and success. It would be great to hear from you. I am grateful for my life, and I wish every one of you continued success and happiness in all you choose to pursue.
