Phillip's Story

Life Hey class of 1976 this is pretty crazy as well as exciting to look at names long forgotton. As some may know I left school early and pursued a carer in chemical science. Much to my dismay it was a field loaded with lots of set backs. In 1975 I met my future wife and at 16 found out that I was going to be a father. During the next two years I tried different carer paths finally hooking up with Dan Dowds Steak House(partly because i was half starving). There I was able to actully learn a trade Meat Cutting. After I was able to put my life in some kind of order I ask my girl to marry me. Foolish as she was she accepted and on November 5, 1977 I was offically off the market(for good). During my time of soul searching our son Bruce was born. Today Bruce is a professional Firefighter. Married with two beautiful daughters, also in 2006 he was ranked 8th in the ESPN World Firefighter combat challenge held in Las Vegas. I moved to another job in 1978 still cutting meat but was soon promoted to Market Manager. Also that year our daughter Natalie was born. Today Natalie is a Police Officer 7 years on the job. Shes married and has a son Ryan. Keep her in your prayers. 1980 still in the grocery business and our daughter Jessica was born. She is married and has the ideal family 1 son Adam and 1 daughter Brittney. Jessica is a Corporate Sales Manager and Event Planner for a 5 star retreat. 1982 I was promoted t...Expand for more
o the Supervisor position of perishables and was responsible for 11 stores. Four years later 1986 our last child(the chosen one he likes to say) was born. Keith is finishing up his 3rd year at UNC Willimington. He is a double major Spanish and International Business. He has his sights on joining the Peace Corps and doing some humanitarian work before taking on the grinds of everyday life.(and paying off his student loans). 1992 Fla. got to be to much. Schools were not up to our standards. Crime was out of control and we decided to make the leap. Sold the house cause North Carolina was calling and it was a terrific move. It was a rebuilding stage but hey I have been at the bottom before. 1993 I started again in the grocery business as a Meat Cutter(by the way i still have all my digits)I was quickly promoted to Market Manager and in 1995 I was again promoted to the Corporate Level of District Sales Specialist over seeing the performance of 30 stores in the Carolina's. Life has been good and I must say I have never let a good time pass me by. My wife and I have a strong bond and our family is well and intact. Like most of you I have come along way from my beginings. South Plantation High School and Broadview Park is just a memory. About every two years I go back and catch up.I still love our Miami Dolphins and Hurricanes, the Everglades and most of all Fort Lauderdale Beach. Hope all is good in your world.
