Hello hello hello! It's almost time for number 20!!! The dynamic Class of'84 is celebrating 20 years!!!! We are knocking on 40!!!! This is most certainly a blessing!! I decided to kick out some dough and get the membership to Classmates.com as I'll be contacting some of you as it relates to our reunion next year.
I am on vacation until August (the life of a teacher-you should try it). I hope to be in NYC for a week in July to do some rehearsal for a production of Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin'" (it's going to be performed in Iceland- I'm just doing the US side of rehearsals)....I am really excited about this great opportunity...it's obvious I'm STILL doing my music... I had the opportunity to come to Memorial Presbyterian Church in March, 2002 to accompany a Houston vocalist named Barbara Tucker (she recorded the ORIGINAL version of ...Expand for more
a gospel piece entitled "Order my Steps"). Last October, I played with the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin during a three night engagement at the Arena Theatre, here in Houston. I think I was shock the first night, sitting like 10 feet away from Aretha. But, God is doing some great things and hopefully I can soon make a FULL-TIME living doing it... We'll see......
I am laughing so hard looking at the "then and now" pictures... Hey, father time has wasted my hairline (and I had plenty of it)...My folks have most of my '84 pics, so the only decent one I had was right before the rain started (it poured right after the recessional)...the other is a publicity shot taken in January...
