Phillip's Story
Life
'86 to '91 - I attended FAMU for one semester then transfered back home to
UAPB. I joined US Army reserve and became a co-op with the National Security Agency. In 1990, I served
in Desert Shield/Storm.
'91 to '96 After finishing up college
I went to work fulltime for the NSA.
I left there for private industry in 1995 and moved from Columbia, MD in a
blizzard to Atlanta, GA in Jan 1996. 5 months later, I moved to Dallas, TX
to take a short contract job in New York City. After that contract ended, I worked for Mobil Oil.
'96 to '01 After the Exxon takeover on Mobil in 2000, I have "diversified
my employment opportunities". In other
other words, I haven't found anything
solid since then. I have worked in
Austin, TX for Cirrus Logic and for
Tyco Industries. My last paying job w...Expand for more
as
working at American Airlines until
being let go at the end of SEP.
'02 and beyond I hope I will be working
in Fort Worth at Lockheed. I would also
enjoy gettng more involved with my
graduate chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha.
I also hope that our 2006 20-year reunion has FULL participation from
ANYONE that cares to be involved and
I will try my best to contribute to
an atmosphere of unity for that time.

2002 - Unlike most in this jobless economy, my Lord, YOUR GOD, has blessed me with
a job that is more than half what I made before. I LOVE my job. I love the people I work
with and I will take another 50% pay cut to stay where I am happy.
