Phyllis's Story

Life After Interboro, I went to work at as a secretary in Phila area then after I was married in 1975 I worked in Washington DC for the Navy. Then for the Navy as a defense contractor for 19 years. In 1994, after 19 years of marriage, while on vacation, my husband and I were in a boating accident, which changed my life. I've was totally single for 9 years, and nearly 11 years am now happily attached & just moved from MD to FL and am very happy. Refer to spin-site org under accounts "Kopytko" to read what happened. I'm loving life, travel a great deal. I do public/inspirational speaking, take an occasional college course or two, and write articles/pieces several of which have been published. I am retired and "work" many hours a week voluntarily in an organization called Stop Propeller Injuries Now! (SPIN!). We fight/promote boating safety to keep others from the blad...Expand for more
es of boat propellers. It's challenging and frustrating, but well worth it, when a victim or survivor is comforted by our presence. I look forward to staying in touch with my high school friends, so keep those cards & letters coming in. Workplace I started as a secretary with the Navy, then became a sales rep. Returned to Crystal City, Arlington VA (DC) as a technical secretary - contractor in 1980. in 1982 I changed companies and a program manager's assistant and grew for 8 years to a Program Director. Switched Companies in 1990 as a Program Manager for Air Traffic Control/ Landing Systems (ATC/LS) for Navy/Marine Corps. In 1993 I switched Companies and became director ATC/LS still in Crystal City.in 1994, I became disabled due to an accident and retired. I now volunteer as a public speaker and safe boating advocate, write freelance articles, and travel.
