Phyllis's Story
I bounced around alot after high school. I had a job for the first three yrs. after I returned to Illinois (the 's' is silent for those who don't know), but I got wild I wanted something other than factory work. So I set my sight on Truck Driving, but that didn't last either. I bounced around from one endless job to another until 1981 when I joined the Army, where I finally felt at a home, I planned on making it a carrer, but I got married, and then pregnant. I could've stayed in, but Illinois has strange abandonment laws and I wasn't going to take a chance on loosing my child to anyone! So in 1987, after nearly 6 yrs, I ended my carrer as an Army Seargent,and began one as a Mother and Wife, the wife part didn't last long, but the Mother part has lasted for 21 years this Octo...Expand for more
ber, I'm proud to say! He's a fine young man, and makes me proud from time to time, but of course, at this stage you can't always say that to them can you? I've since become physically disabled to the point that I no longer work, and I spend alot of time at the local Veteran's Hospital, but, when I can I travel. Three Yrs. ago I went on Carabian Cruise for 7 days and 6 nights, it was one of the most relaxing trips I have ever been on in my life!! I recomend it to everyone! I'm in a happy relatinonship of 12 yrs, and we tied the knot 7 yres ago. So it was a long time comming, but Love found me twice. That about covers it in a nut shell.
