Phyllis's Story
I am listed on the Seaside board even tho I left Seaside during the 8th grade and graduated from High School in Klamath Falls so that I might find some of my old friends from Seaside. I have reconnected with Ky and Bill Weed and Margaret Raw and would like to find Gary Anderson and Jolly (Jhalmar) Steele.
November 28, 2017 - I just wrote a new note on my profile since we did not make it to the reunion this year. Thought that my friends who I haven't seen since the last reunion will be able to catch up. Have a great Christmas
I'm living in Folsom, CA near Sacramento where my husband & I are semi retired after running a contracting business. We have 10 grandchildren ( 3 finished with school and working and 4 in college and 1 in HS and one in Jr Hi. It is harder to get together on a regular basis but we do our best. We have 2 granddaughters at UC Davis near us and see them often. Now we go to visit those who are working and stay with them to visit. Terry gets bored being home and we are taking off to do a small job in the Boise ID Temple and will visit friends and a granddaughter while in ID. He passed up on his 3rd century Bike ride to do that. We have a beautiful lake within a mile and bike around it often. It's a 14 mile ride. We also do a 3 mile walk each morning. I love living here.
The following was written several years ago and have left it for close friends who may be interested about our kids and grandkids. NO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN yet. They are having too much fun traveling, hiking, playing in Monterey etc.
Our oldest daughter Dena and her husband have a cabin on Donner Lake in the Tahoe area and we all gather there often.
They love to travel and have taken their four girls (14 to 19 years old) to England, Scotland, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey,Sardinia, Corsica, Bali and Egypt for about 6 weeks each summer to help educate them.
My younger daughter Tawnya has 2 college graduates. Jared graduated with a degree in civil engineering. Brittany graduates iwent bacj to college at UC Monterey and will graduate sometime next year. She is a Biology Major.
Terry has a daughter in San Jose with one daughter (19) and a son in this area with a daughter (24) who is also in college studying nursing.
So thankful that all our grandchildren are taking education so seriously.

cramento Temple and since then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (also known as the Mormon Church) is sending us to Temples all over the world to do the wallcoverings. We are preparing to go to Kiev Russia to install a mural there and will take a side trip to Italy. We have been fortunate to travel to Guatemala, Uruguay, Porto Allegre Brazil, Lima Peru, Merida near Cancun and other Mexican Temples along with many US Temples. More recently we have been able to travel to Amsterdam and Belgium and to Calgary Canada after installing Murals in Temples nearby. Loved Banff and Lake Louise. It has been a great way to see the areas that we travel to. We always add on a few days to a week of travel in the area. We are retiring from the large jobs we were taking on and will only be installing Hand Painted Murals as they are easy for us and only take 2 or 3 days. After that we can vacation in the area the church has sent us to.
In Guatemala we traveled to Tekal and saw their famous ruins and did a Jungle Canapy Tour on Zip Lines (so fun) We also traveled into Belize and toured a cave. We swam in and walked in water from ankle deep up to shoulder deep for about 1 1/2 hours til we climbed up into a cavern where there were pottery and skulls and skeletons. What an experience. Another of our favorites was Macchu Picchu in Peru. The work there is unbelievable. We feel blessed to be able to continue the traveling that we have so enjoyed. We are anxious to go to some Asian countries and to Sweden and Finland (where our Mom's ancestors came from) also back to England again (Our Dad's ancestors) We spent 3 weeks there a few years ago and really loved England.
I am very involved in Family History and do a lot of training of others. It is such fun. I guess I should have been a detective.
Terry and I visited Seaside recently and driving around the area brought back many good memories of fun there with lots of good friends. Last year we decided to go to Seaside's reunion and were able to reconnect with good old friends because of attending. It makes me so happy to reconnect with an old friend and find out that all is still good for them, even though it is not always the case. No matter, friends have shaped our lives and will always be important to me. To anyone reading this note I thank you for the part you played in my life.
