Phyllis's Story
Hi !
I finally grew up after leaving school ! Took me awhile. I married and moved with my husband and chiildren to Marion , Indiana. I worked at the RCA Plant there and also became a Realestate Agent . After divorcing and retiring , I moved back to Kentucky , the kids were all grown and gone and I saw no reason to stay.
My youngest son, Jeff was killed at age 33 back in 1998. That is something I will never get over but have learned to cope !
Life hasn't always been a bowl of cherries for me . Some my own fault , later years , I would say not ! I have been divorced for many years now.
I work in Home Health , usually with Hospice patients , the sick and the dying . I seemed to have found my nitch , I should have been a nurse all along . I get more reward from trying my best to make their last days on earth as peaceful as I possibly can , plus I have a sense of humor that usually keeps them smiling .
What time I am not at work , I spend reading, watching tv, I have a lady friend that goes out to eat with me a couple o...Expand for more
f times a week to get me out of the house.
I live alone and like it ! I have my 3 children , 7 grandchildren , and 5 great grandchildren that visit from time to time.
I had to have back fusion in Dec of 2009 and then my right hip replaced in April of this year. I am doing fine , back at work , even went on my first cruise between the 2 surgeries ! I went with my church group. I became a Christian in 2007. I also do as much work for the church in my free time as I can. It makes me happy taking care of others needs . Most rewarding job I ever had !
Update : Last June I met a wonderful man and we are now lliving together in hishome on a farm in Fleming Co
. I love him and I love being here in the country. So peaceful. I haven't worked since last Aug. when my hospice patient passed away. I am wanting to start back but it seems as each day is full . We have lots of grandchildren that we watch alot sometimes it seems, but their parents work and thats what grandparents are for. We enjoy them ! I am very happy in my life now.
