Phyllis's Story

I remember when my mom made my sister and God-brother keep me. They did not want to because they were going to a concert. I was about 7 years old. My mother made them take me to the concert. The concert was at South Oak Cliff (my Alma Mater...Expand for more
) and guess who we saw? It was the Staple Singers. We were on the 2nd row. I was so excited! The highlight of the evening was when the Staple Singers came down from the stage and gave me a rose. I will never forget this as long as I live.
