Phyllis's Story
After high school I received my AA at College of the Desert and transfered to Cal State University Long Beach where I received by BA in Physical Education. No big surprise to enyone I'm sure.
After graduation I came home to Indio and began subsitute teaching as I completed my teaching credential. I taught in Blythe for 1 1/2 years, lived next door to by sister Kathy and her family.
Blythe was too small a town for me so I came back to Indio, subed again until I was hired at CV High School. Yes, our rival high school but I liked the students there more than at IHS.
At first it was hard to root against Indio but I soon got over it when I began coaching volleyball, softball, basketball and cheerleading.
I never married but have a beautiful 21 year old daughter named Aimee, who is a senior at San Diego State University. She is the joy of my life.

g with our beach friends, enjoying the cool weather, listening to the waves and shopping, shopping and more shopping.
I love to watch soccer, tennis at the Gardens at Indian Wells, taking long walks with my two dogs Hollywood, (Beagle) and Andy,(Pappillion, terrier mix), raising 3 Chinchillas, going to Disneyland and spending time with family.
I retired in June 2008, after 37 years of teaching. I am enjoying sleeping in past 5am, but I haven't completely gotten out of teaching. I teach swimming 3 days a week in the after school program at CV high and am now the swim coach there.
My daughter Aimee likes that I can go to visit her in San Diego a lot more.
Aimee and I and a friend are taking a 7 day cruise to Alaska this summer. I can't wait to take pictures of glaciers, whales, sea life, sled dogs, bald eagles and beautiful scenery that we have never seen before. We have heard so many great stories of others trips so we are very excited to experience it for ourselves.
