Phyllis McLemore:  

Here’s almost 50 years in a nutshell: I married Lewis McLemore in December of 1971. We moved to Seattle, Washington, during our third year of marriage and lived there almost 3 years before moving to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where Lewis became a firefighter and we started our family. We raised three sons, and homeschooled for 14 years. In 1990 I began working in political campaigns and became Organizational Director of the Tom Coburn for Congress campaign in 1994 when he ran for his first term. I taught in home school coops in the Tulsa area for about 11 years. Lewis retired in the spring of 2003 after 25 years of service with the fire department and became a supervisor at the Port of Muskogee. In 2007 I enrolled at TCC and got my Associate’s in journalism in 2009. Continuing on to OSU-Stillwater, in 2011 I received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in journalism and broadcasting and a minor in leadership from the education college.
