Polley's Story

My story starts I left Norfolk in 1972 seeking an education to help me become a multi millionaire. Well, I have millions but not in cash flow. I went to school in Connecticut- found a profession (Nursing), I love. I worked in my profession (civil service-fed gov) in Northern Virginia for almost 30 yrs. Faith decided I needed to seek out more adventures. Enter the youth of Virginia - I became a true educator for kids with learning disabilities. Faith again stepped in again after 16 years and decided I needed another change, this time, homeless families. So this is where I am now and loving it. I take home-cooked meals to the shelter, I give clothes for individuals to go on interviews. I have fulfilled almost all of the required "stuff" the world expects of a female- I have had an great education with two great jobs, I have married, given birth, and divorced. he only requirement I have not achieved is being a grandparent (not my fault). As I wait for my next requirement (death), I plan to do my best to enjoy everything possible to make my and those around me as pleasant and happy as possible. To put as much joy/smiles in someone's life as I can. I love living in Northern VA (Springfield), I love God, I love my family. I love the fact that every day no matter how my illnesses make me feel, I can see God's beauty. I love people, their problems etc. I have come a long way to where I am now. I love fast cars, hotels, & eating at restaurants. I no longer eat red meat but just can't give up the gospel bird. Allergic to onions but love garlic, born in the cold spring (March 26) but will celebrate all month long. Spring and Fall are still the best seasons (I love them). I love the spirit of giving but I am so "okay " with the spirit of receiving. Let's see - is there anything else - above all I love me some POLLEY.

What's on my mine - I was in great pain (haven't forgot) waiting for a big headed boy to be born!! He was subborn - he couldn 't make up his mine to come on out. So his grandfather decided with the doctor to PULL him out
