Poppi's Story
Poppi is from South Miami, Florida. Poppi's schools include Miami Southridge High School. Poppi later attended home builders institute of america (Construction, drywall and framing, Bricklaying) , Miami Mays Middle School (Biology, Creative Writing, History) , Perrine Richmond Elementary School, South Miami Heights Elementary School, Montgomery County Community College. Poppi works(ed) at Ensol, Comcast Cable, Toys ''r'' Us.
Poppi's interests include Gaming. Music Poppi likes includes Nadia Turner, 2wo, Rob Zombie. Books Poppi likes include Hogfather, The Color Of Magic, Where the Wild Things Are Book. TV shows Poppi likes include The Cosby Show, Tom And Jerry, The X-Files.

According to my Fathers side of the family we are French descended from Countess Du Berry s family.MarieJeanne Bécu, Comtesse du Barry (19 August 1743 â 8 December 1793) was the last Maîtresse-en-titre (Royal Mistress or Courtesan of Louis XV of France and one of the victims of the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. Famous Courtesan to King Louie the elder. at the time of the revolution The King had sent her away and His son had become the Dauphamine or King with his new Bride Marie Antoinette.Marie Jean Becu was linked romantically to the Duberry Family and married into it according to her diaries.There seemed to be a bit of double dealing where she Married a cousin of her Lover who sought favor from the king a plied him with the Countess.The king was a widower by this time and quite despondent ,His former Courtesan Madame Du Pompadre had died, he was quite alone he had other lovers of course but upon seeing her in the court, walking in the garden she became his favorite.He would sit next to her and watch he clean her face and put on make up and he was said to remark"her beauty is such that she needs no other adornment" No proof she ever bore the King a child. However many hints that he was maneuvering to somehow elevate her status. He gave her and her Husband rooms in the palace and granted them an estate nearby Her husband was sent on fools errands often,being sent to the front in many battles hoping to eliminate the competition, for years at a time.People you may have herd of her Contemporaries Marie Antoinette despised her there is a story or two about how these two interacted I think my favorite is Countess Duberry sent a message through a page to young Marie Antoinette informing her she wanted to make a gift of diamonds to Marie to smooth things over to which Marie responded to the page "tell Madame Duberry I have enough Diamonds" Countess Duberry was known for her Garish tas...Expand for more
te in clothing and I can only guess since we are talking about a very decadent time she must have been something to behold she was also infamous for her collection of jewelery she seemed to like collecting jewels of every size and description most of course were gifts from King Louie the elder. Oddly enough not all of these treasures were ever recovered at the onset of the revolution she shrewdly hid her treasures all around her estate, and avoided the chopping block for quite sometime by telling anyone who came for her where they could find individual stashes of her jewels. She had buried them all over her estate.Some of these stashes have been auctioned off in recent years at Christies and the like. No one has ever found all of her jewels the rumors of how much treasure she hid varies of course.Conservation efforts at the estate make Archeology impossible. I personally think some mysteries are just fun. She was Queen during Le Grand Terror(The French Revolution) for about five to ten minutes which is how long it took for them to drag her begging and pleading to the chopping block. Her last words were "You want to kill me ? Why? Just one moment more please" Which is exactly what I would say (maybe we are related)Somehow the part of the family who came to America were affected so greatly that to this day unfortunately we do not speak French nor do any of us have any old family recipes. It so affected us all that most of us never left the east coast of the US settling in D.C. ,Maryland, and Virginia.In fact none of us have been back and have no fantasy's about going. It might be nice we would never know. My name is a common French Girls name right down to spelling it with an I instead of a Y like the rest of the world. In France Memorial day is referred to as Poppi day and the custom is to lay a Poppy on the grave of fallen soldiers. This is a nod to the Cultural memory of using opium to ease the suffering of wounded and Dying soldiers. My Mothers side well Ive been told we are Scottish of the clan Mac Donald I was also told somehow that we are Cherokee. However no one knows who the Cherokee relative might be.I just think it has become far too fashionable to say you are one thing or another when in truth Its not like any of it matters. These after all are not my accomplishments.The story's not finished yet I will write it all down for you when I'm done.I have three Brothers and Two sisters they are descended from the Clan Irwin or Irvine in addition to being of the clan Mac Donald However as for me I like to remind people that Humans roamed relatively freely before we started naming places and forming teams. I was hatched in D.C. to a red headed father and sometimes blond mother I am the last of six children. I was raised in Miami a free range child. I chased lizards skinned my knees often never broke a bone. Tanned my hide when ever I got the chance on the beach in the front yard, on the roof, at the pool, walking home from school. Was obsessed with the smurfs, Hello Kitty, and Barbie, and for some reason Transformers and GI Joe.Fraggles, Thunder cats, inspector gadget. I had the biggest crush on Jayce from Jayce and the wheeled warriors. I have come back to the D.C. metro area because it is my true home. Much like Salmon I know the pool from whence I came and I have longed for it all my life.".
