Preston's Story
Preston L. Allen, Miami Norland Class of '83, is the recipient of a State of Florida Individual Artist Fellowship in Literature and the Sonja H. Stone Prize in Fiction.

His novels, Hoochie Mama (2001), Bounce (2003) and Come with Me Sheba (2004), have been well received. His award-winning short story collection, Churchboys and Other Sinners, was shortlisted for the Hurston-Wright Award.
His fourth novel, All Or Nothing (Akashic Books 2007), has received rave reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Library Journal, Kirkus Review, and Foreword Magazine.
Professor Allen teaches English and Creative Writing at Miami-Dade College North Campus.
