Preston's Story
Ok.. lets see. Got married to my high school sweetheart, Marie.
Joined the Army, mostly because it was a fast way out of Wimer/Rogue River. All my friends were getting arrested, doing jail time.. etc.
Speaks alot for the people I ran with.
Started a new life in the Army. 10'th Mountain Div. Fort Drum NY.
Got sent over to the sand pit. Desert Storm/Shield. I was there in the thick of it. Was serving with the 101'st Airborne at the time.
Came back.. found out that getting married to young and being away alot is not good for a marriage.
Got out of the Military (Honorable discharge) turns out being fresh from combat, lots of medals... and coming home to a screwed situation... is something the military can understand.
Moved back to Oregon, from NY. Lived with my dad for awhile... tried to make things work with Marie... no go. divorced in 97 after alot of on and off again.
Have worked at Senior Sams,in GP shopping center (where sizzler is). Worked doing landscape and maintence in Rogue River ...Expand for more
for a couple years. All the landscaping you see around the shopping center in Rogue River, and Aunt Betty's (the current name of the restuarant there)was done mostly by me.
Worked doing Security for the River Side Inn. And the Hospital. Dimmick campus.(now closed)
And a bit over 5 years at Rogue Valley Sash and Door.
Had to have a few surgeries... stuff from the Gulf War came back on me..
Now listed as a 100% dissabled Vet. Permanent. Retired.
Got Married again July 5'th 2008. And she is the love of my life. Finally... lol
Have an 17 year old stepson now. Actually he was 15 when his mom and I started dating. So happy happy, joy joy, I've been raising a teenager.
REALLY makes me feel sorry for all the crap I put my parents through. In fact after a couple months of dealing with my stepson.. I called and appologised to my mom and my dad for being such an ass when I was growing up. Because now I understand what it means to actually want to kill a kid... ;)
Now living happy and married in Roseburg.
