Life I just got an email from Classmates after many years of not even thinking about it. I looked at my LIFE and WOW, everything has changed so I will share an update. My husband and I did retire to Port Aransas, Texas in 2013. Hurricane Harvey directly hit the island in 2017 and caused extreme damage to our town. Glad we don't have tornadoes because we were able to evacuate before it hit. We were finally able to move back into our home after 8 months of repair. We are grateful to have had a house to return to. Since then the island has come back loud and proud, more beautiful than ever. We have a beautiful house on a canal subdivision and have two boats right outside our back door. I have never really been a fan of fishing but that is very popular here and my husband loves it. The weather in late fall, winter and very early spring is very nice but the summer heat and humidity is intolerable so I spend the late spring, summer and early fall in Anchorage, Alaska with my daughter and her husband. You can say I am the opposite of a snowbird. We will be building an ADU off of her house this spring to give me a separate place of my own to stay in, excited about that.
