Life
I just got an email from Classmates after many years of not even thinking about it. I looked at my LIFE and WOW, everything has changed so I will share an update.
My husband and I did retire to Port Aransas, Texas in 2013. Hurricane Harvey directly hit the island in 2017 and caused extreme damage to our town. Glad we don't have tornadoes because we were able to evacuate before it hit. We were finally able to move back into our home after 8 months of repair. We are grateful to have had a house to return to. Since then the island has come back loud and proud, more beautiful than ever. We have a beautiful house on a canal subdivision and have two boats right outside our back door. I have never really been a fan of fishing but that is very popular here and my husband loves it. The weather in late fall, winter and very early spring is very nice but the summer heat and humidity is intolerable so I spend the late spring, summer and early fall in Anchorage, Alaska with my daughter and her husband. You can say I am the opposite of a snowbird. We will be building an ADU off of her house this spring to give me a separate place of my own to stay in, excited about that. During the time I am not there we plan to use it as an Airbnb when friends and family are not staying there.

th my three children and 7 grandchildren I now have three great grandchildren and one on the way. How can that be? It shocks me to think about it. Everyone is healthy and happy including me.
In 2013 we got a little Lacey doggie. I was never a dog person but I am now. She is my heart. She is a precious little 12lb Bichon and spreads love to everyone she sees. She is white so I have to bathe her every week because no one can resist petting her which is exactly what she wants. When I look at the pics on my phone most of them are of her. Walking her and playing with her keeps me busy and probably healthier. There is such beauty in unconditional love.
I spend time helping seniors (more senior than me ha ha), doing many art projects, traveling, and enjoying the beach which is about 5 minutes from my house. My goal for 2022 is to go through every closet, every drawer, every inch of my house to get rid of things that complicate my life requiring too much brain power. A simpler, less complicated life is what I want. I used to be great at multi-tasking but those days are becoming fewer and fewer.
I hope my update finds everyone happy and healthy and I hope your days to come are amazing, surprising and memorable. I am doing all I can to make sure mine are.
My best to everyone,
PJ
