Life
Well, I'm happy to say that I'm finally living my dream. I own a business dealing with the prevention and intervention of eating disorders. I do public speaking, counseling and lead support groups for those experiencing anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. I LOVE IT! (More info can be found at 9shed.com) I taught at a high school for at-risk teens for 7 years prior to that. I quit in 2005 and got my Master's in counseling.....which brought me to where I am today...but not with out a lot of hard work in MANY ways! One of the most challenging would be my own recovery. ew, but I was fighting for my life while in high school. I was quite isolated because I was dealing with anorexia and bulimia. I wish I could redo those jr high/high school years, in that respect; however, it also made me the empathetic and wise person that I am today. I always wonder how I could go through all that, yet not one person at school confronted me about it. That is scary! I know this is why I have such a passion to do this work. I know there are young people with that same pain, but I don't want them to suffer in silence. That is a gift! Passing along peace and power to each of you.
