Rachella's Story
Life
I left Fayetteville, NC in 1987 and moved to Pittsburgh, PA with a good friend. After leaving Pittsburgh, I decided life had more in store for me, so I packed my bags and my 2yr. old daughter and moved home to where live originated in Champaign, Illinois. Being a single mother, I felt home was the best place to get my life together; plus I had a great support system. Well, anyway to make a long story short. I graduated in 1996 with my LPN, then in 2001 I graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S.Degree in Health Education. I started working for the ...Expand for more
Champaign-Urbana Public Health District in September 2001 as a Health Educator in Tobacco Prevention, then in November 2003, I was promoted to Communicable Disease Investigator for Champaign County. I also moonlight occasionally as a nurse to keep my licenses current. I also have a beautiful 19yr old daughter that attends college. My plans are to return to school next fall to pursue a RN or BSN Degree in nursing. I've had a couple of bumps and bruises along life's highway, but for the most part, at the end of every day I can truly say "I'm happy and truly blessed".
