Raena's Story

Lived in tucson, moved to Utah, learned how and why to dig square holes. ran a lot. climbed a lot. Worked for the Forest Service digging square holes and getting paid to hike. Got married. Got divorced. Graduated. Became and adept observer and documenter. Got greedy and moved to the private sector... Moved to Seattle and then to Portland. Worked for engineers doing something that only vaguely resembles archaeology and science, and is only vaguely ethical. Observed and documented all over the western US, including Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, Cali, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and Montana... Had no control over my schedule, but got to see cool things and go neat places. Also got to see some pretty awful things and stay in pretty bad places. Commuted to Eugene and slept in my car 4...Expand for more
nights a week. Studied old architecture, why it's important and beautiful, and how to save and fix it. Dropped out. Bought an old house and saved it. Got a dog. Lost the dog. Had 3 hens which were more entertaining than television. Gardened like heck. Spent a summer in Wyoming. Spent 6 months in Sandpoint Idaho. Wind blew me to Spokane. Bought another old house and am still trying to fix it. Studied geography and GIS in hopes to change career trajectory to something funner, sciencier, more stable. Learned to deal with the cold. Desired to make pretty maps. We'll see how that works out for me. Got married again. Have a snake and a tarantula. Always cook, sleep, talk, walk. Occasionally run, climb, make stained glass windows, paint, canoe, camp, backpack, and play the piano. Any questions?
