Ragen's Story

Life Hey everybody! I can't believe that it's now been over 25 years since we graduated - time sure flies when you're having fun!! It sure was great to see everyone at our 25th reunion! I have been happily married for over 25 years to the love of my life, and I have two intelligent and beautiful daughters, ages 24 and almost 21 - my 24 year old (Tamara) graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University in May, 2007, got married in August 2008, and is expecting my first grandchild in September, 2009; and my youngest (Tori) is a junior at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, and works at the local radio station down there, Z-97.7 FM! That just leaves me and the hubby at home, so it's time to get back to our travelling! My girls have been the lights of my life - they were both Homecoming Queens at Newton High School (2002 and 2005); Tamara graduated as Valedictorian, while Tori graduated 3rd in her class; Tamara won a full ride to college, and Tori won enough scholarships to get us through with just a small college bill; and they were both active in so many sports and extracurricular activities while in high school that it was hard to keep u...Expand for more
p! But it was worth it - it kept me and the hubby (Bob) young! College Believe it or not, I still have not completed my four year college degree! We moved to Japan right after we got married, and lived there for two years. I had taken classes with Dekalb before I got married, and had all intentions of going to the University of Maryland (they had a small campus on the base) while in Japan - but the "morning sickness" with pregnancy kept me from going to class! Since we've been home, I've taken enough classes for an Associate's degree, but still don't have enough for my Bachelor's. There just doesn't seem to be enough time between life and work...oh well... Military While I didn't actually serve in the military, and my husband had served his "time" before we got married, we did go to Japan while he worked for a company that had contracted to do computer work with the military. Therefore, we had officer privleges (GS-12), without the hassle of actually being in the military! It was great in Japan - the country was beautiful, and the friends we made over there will be our friends for life. It was definitely an experience I wouldn't trade for anything in the world!
