Raliegh's Story
After graduation I joined the US Coast Guard Reserve and went on active duty. After active duty I enrolled in and graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration in 1965. During this time both of my parents passed away so with my wife of the past 51 years (Mary Lang - Sealth Class of 1962) we made a home for my two youngest sisters (Randa and Susan)to enable them to graduate from Chief Sealth and launch their lives and careers. To do this and stay in the area, I hired into The Boeing Company, a decision I would never regret. I held management positions in Finance, Engineering and Program Management. I retired from Boeing in 1996 as Director of Program Management for Information Systems and Business Integration after more than 30 years of what I call an exciting and chall...Expand for more
enging career.
Mary and I live in Bellevue, WA and have two wonderful daughters, Debby (46 yrs old) and Jenny (44yrs old). We have 2 grandchildren, Nick (20 yrs old) and Natalie (18 yrs old). We designed and built our own waterfront home in Grapeview, WA and spend many wonderful days boating and just plain relaxing. Since retiring we have made trips to Alaska, Oregon, Arizona, California, Nevada and Virginia. While in Virginia, we toured the Civil War battlefields and Washington D.C. finding this to be an inspiring experience. We have traveled to France and England as well. Our last trip to D. C. resulted in a special trip to Baltimore, Maryland and tour of the USCGC Taney that I served on in 1960. Good friends over these years (many from our High School) have made our lives a pleasure, to say the least.
