i started working as a bus-boy at the blue bonnet restaurant in brazil, in. after 2 years, i went to work for brazil-70 truck plaza, where i spent another 2 years until i joined the army as a cook. i was sent to ft. leonard wood, mo. for 2 yrs in a basic training unit and was promoted to the rank of specialist-5 and transfered to germany where i spent 2 yrs in an armored cavalry unit, was promoted to ssg and transfered to ft sill, ok. i served there for about 2 and a half years as a company mess sergeant in a armored gun unit and transfered to the army recruiting command out of chicago,il. and assigned to poplar bluff, mo. for a year. i was then assigned to germany again and spent three yrs there in an armor unit as a company mess sergeant and transfered to ft. monmouth, nj where i was promoted to sfc and served as a bmc for three years and transfered...Expand for more
to germany again for 2 years. i served there for 2 yrs as a platoon sergeant/battalion mess sergeant in field hospital, during which time i was sent to saudi arabia for desert storm. after the war, i stayed and helped form a temporary transportation company where i served as the assistant 1st sgt. which means i co-ordinated the requirements of the 1st sgt and the equipment loading personnel assigned to the company. when i returned to germany i was reassigned to ft. bragg,nc. in an mp unit as the bms until my retirement in june of 1994. i then started driving a truck for burlington motor carriers in daleville, in. i worked for them as a company driver for 2 and a half years at that time i purchased my own truck and leased it to them for another 2 years. at the end of that time i leased my truck to morris trucking in terre haute, in where i have stayed until now.
