Ralyne's Story
Life
After high school, I received an Associate of Science in Business Degree from the Detroit College of Business. A Michigan native, I have lived in Florida since 1972 and have been employed by Orange County Government as the Executive Assistant to the Public Works Director for 35 years. I retired in 2007. Prior to my move to Florida, I played French horn for two seasons with the Detroit Women's Symphony and in the 70's, I was a member of the Volusia County Community Band and the Orange County Community Band. I also took up ballroom dancing and have won many 1st Place trophies.
In the late 70's, I joined the local genealogical society and soon became involved in their publications. I served as an officer for 17 years including two years as Preside...Expand for more
nt, and became Co-Editor and Editor of their quarterly publication as well as serving as the founding Editor (August 1980) of Treasure Chest News. I won 1st Place in Class I for the 1987 Genealogical Newsletter Competition. was also Chairman of the East Central Florida Genealogical Society Co-op.
Since 1977, I've been a member of Florida Women in Government, held many offices and have been Historian since 1993. In 2003, I won the Member of the Year Award and from 2004-2006, I held the office of President, an organization of nearly 300 members from throughout the State of Florida.
Since retiring, I've had a number of genealogical clients of which I have done their research and compiled charts and reports. As you can see, I seem to stay very active.
