Ramon's Story
I went to Prince Georges Community College for until 1986. I didn't have the discpline for it, so I went into the U.S. Air Force from Sept 1987 to Sept 1991. I was stationed at Holloman A.F.B. for most of my 4 yrs. I was one of the first Air Forcers to get sent off to Desert Storm, and got luckly sent to the U.A.E. which was rear line action once Iran declared they weren't getting involved.
After getting back from Desert Storm in May 1990, I decided not to sign up for 20/30 of miltary service. I just felt there were bigger and better challenges out there. I decided to go into an automotive field, which I had started to focus into at ...Expand for more
Northwestern. I went to Wyoming Tech Institute in Laramie, Wyo. I got an AAS degree from them in 1992. I then left the state of Wyoming, and moved to Aspen, Colo in 1995.
After helping to raised several politcal issues there, I finally ran for county commissioner of Pitkin County in 2002. I fell ill at the beginning of the race, and had to move back to Hyattsville, Md. I still recieved 41% of the vote in that election, which was impressive for not being there physically. I had to recieve medical attension at the Veterans Hosp here in Washington, D.C. Yes, I am doing better. I currently work as a mechanic, and occasionally go racing.
