Randall's Story

I was shy as a teenager, so I flew under the radar for the most part in HS. Most of my classmates probably won't even remember me, but I enjoyed being part of the first class to attend all of their high school years at Leto. After graduation, I enlisted in the Navy for four years, but enjoyed it so much, that I extended for two more. After college, I was missing the military, so I enlisted in the Florida National Guard for two years, but didn't enjoy it as much as the Navy. I married my childhood sweetheart, LaVonda Jean Davis (class of '71), and we have now been ...Expand for more
married for 38 years. We have two children and six grandchildren and now our daughter is in the process of adopting four siblings, so they would make 10 grandkids. I was an IT Engineer in both Jacksonville and Charlotte, NC until late in 2001 and after corporate downsizing, and several relocations later, I found myself in Chattanooga, TN working in the firearm industry and homesick for Florida. We returned in 2012 and live on a 10 acre "mini-farm" just outside of Callahan, FL. In 1968, I never dreamed I would actually retire some day, but I am and I am enjoying it.

Not much of a "Throwback Thursday" since it only goes back to 2011, but I came across this picture and thought I'd share it. It was good times with great friends. Miss them all... B|
So glad to be back home in Florida. This was our sunset last night...
Not bad for Feb 1st! Have I mentioned how happy I am to be back home in Florida? B|
A Red Tailed Hawk like the one pictured here sat in a tree behind our house for a long time this afternoon. I tried taking a picture of it, but even with zoom, it wasn't big enough to see any details.
A LOT of my Tennessee friends have been posting snow pictures this morning, so I thought I'd post one also! Look how deep it is in our front yard! Woohoo! Get out the four-wheeler and let's play!

What a powerful Palm Sunday message this morning! Thank you, Pastor Rick, for feeding His sheep.
Thanks for being such awesome friends, Phillip AndTeresa! We had a great time last night and it was so good to see Vickie and Richard. The girls made it home ok, and are getting adjusted to their new home. Did I mention the
Sigh... I guess everyone is right... I might as well quit denying it... I've become a redneck... B|
Had a visitor this afternoon. I've checked it out and found that it wasn't venomous, but any snake over 5' long gets killed on my property. It is a "Rat Snake" and part of their appetite is chickens and their eggs, so I wa
My mother-in-law (Mary Davis) is in Hospice in Chattanooga and only has a few more days to live. My wife (LaVonda Lyons) is spending them with her and treasuring every moment. Please pray for our family - Mom will be missed

We made it home last night from Mom's funeral. She would've loved it. Her granddaughters sang "Serenaded by Angels" for her and it was absolutely beautiful!
Another overpaid, unqualified politician from the north trying to sound intelligent while revealing just how stupid he is. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) actually said the Confederate Battle Flag represents slavery. What was HE doi

According to TV Land's statement about pulling the Dukes of Hazzard, the battle flag is "racially charged". Who exactly defines "racially charged"? I could say that rap music is "racially charged" (and a lot of it actually
WOW What a deal! :)
